2006 BROTHER JONATHAN GAZETTE CROSSWORD PUZZLE
INSTRUCTIONS
DO PUZZLES OFFLINE:
To run, play, or printout on paper for use anytime you want, these puzzles need
to be downloaded on to your computer and then run using the free program
"Across Lite." You can go here to get your free copy of the
Across Lite Player
. Simply follow their detailed, user friendly, instructions for downloading
and installing the program on your computer. The Across Lite offline player is
available for Windows, Mac, OS/2 and Unix computers. Once the player is
installed on your hard drive, it only takes several seconds or less to download
a new Crossword Puzzle.
DO PUZZLES ONLINE:
To do these puzzles online you need to have Java and Javascript enabled on your
computer. This is normal for most "up-to-date" computer users, but you, or
some of the safety programs on your computer may have them disabled for
Internet security reasons. Here is "some" information about Java on your
computer:
OLDER BROWSER SUPPORT:
If you see a grey box and did not see a Crossword Puzzle when you select a
puzzle, this indicates that you either are using an obsolete browser that does
not offer Java capabilities, or that Java support is turned off in your
browser. More detailed information is offered below.
Older Browser Version Limitations
Netscape Navigator/Communicator and Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 3.0
and higher support Java. Earlier versions and most other browsers do not
support Java. We recommend downloading Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or
higher for those using browsers that do not support Java.
You can typically find out the name and version number of the Web browser you
are using by selecting ABOUT
from the HELP menu up there at the very top of your browser.
BROWSER HAS JAVA DISABLED:
Netscape Navigator/Communicator
To enable Java in Netscape Navigator/Communicator 4.0, select PREFERENCES from
the EDIT menu. In the sidebar, click on ADVANCED. In the new window that
appears, make sure that both ENABLE JAVA and ENABLE JAVASCRIPT have a checkmark
next to them. Click the OK button.
If you are using Netscape Navigator version 3.0, select NETWORK PREFERENCES
from the OPTIONS menu. Click on the LANGUAGES tab. Make sure that both ENABLE
JAVA and ENABLE JAVASCRIPT have a checkmark next to them. Click the OK button.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0
To enable Java in Internet Explorer version 3.0, select OPTIONS from the VIEW
menu and click on the SECURITY tab. Make sure that ENABLE JAVA PROGRAMS has a
checkmark next to it. Click the OK button.
If you still experience difficulties with Java, please contact the technical
support department for your Internet service provider or employer (if you are
connecting through work).
STILL HAVING PROBLEMS:
If you are still having problems with the Java on your computer, do not write
to me at the BroJon Gazette. I have enough problems of my own, answering email
about simple things, such as; "Why did Bush Lie?", "Will Hillary Run?", "Are
HAARP and Chemtrails destroying the planet?" or "Who really is running all the
conspiracies in the world?" Trying to solve the problems of Java on your
computer would take a bit longer, and I just don't have the time.
